A blogger asked in the comments at Change blog background color and others: " I can't keep my font consistent throughout my posts...."
I suspect he is copy-pasting from MS WORD or some other word processor. When you prepare a document in WORD, it adds a lot of invisible formatting tags to the text that you type and when you copy-paste from WORD to the Blogger post editor, these formatting tags plays havoc and like the blogger above, the font can go "crazy".
If you want something transferred from WORD to your Blogger post editor, first copy-paste from WORD into an ASCII editor like Notepad to strip over the formatting tags, then copy-paste from Notepad to the post editor.

uSE YOUR Note pad as ur Personal Diary
ReplyDeletehttp://sehacking.blogspot.com/2009/09/use-notepad-as-your-personal-diary.html
I did a post with Word; then copying to blogsite; problems of different font sizes. On post was all this formatting gibberish. Frustrated, I highlighted all the gibberish and presto, my post looked perfect with one 'accidental' move.
ReplyDeletethank's for your information. may be i have to install twitter
ReplyDeleteHi. thanks for the post. I have the same problem with blogger. I am using Ms Word to prepare my blog post and i always get following error message: "Your HTML cannot be accepted: Tag is not allowed: META"
ReplyDeleteAccording yo your advice, now i am using notepad for blog posting. But there is a problem. New post's font is different from previous post's fonts. Plz some to advice to correct them.
Thanks
Perhaps you can surround your posts with <div style="font: 14pt/20pt Garamond, Georgia, serif;color:#ff9900;"> and </div> or something similar.
ReplyDeleteHi Peter.
ReplyDeleteI've always been using Notepad. Even when writing my post, I do the draft first in Noteback and then paste it on Blogger.
My questions is entirely out of the topic. If you visit my blog http://isladenebz.blogspot.com/, you'll notice on top of the graphics these characters:
-->
I don't know where it came from, and I wish to totally delete it. Can you help me? Thanks.
That is probably the unpaired closing tag of the HTML comment tag <!-- some stuff --> (some stuff will not be displayed in any browser). What I am trying to say is the comment tag must always display in pairs and that lone comment tag means either it should not be that or there is a missing opening tag <!--
ReplyDeleteI've never had a problem doing a copy and paste from Word to Blogger because I paste into the "edit html" screen instead of the "compose" screen. Maybe different templates misbehave?
ReplyDeletethanks for the advice,,,,,really works ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful blog! Thank you for sharing your information with us that 'don't have a clue'.
ReplyDeleteJust a thought, couldn't MP follow you with RSS feed?
I have not had the problem of copy-pasting, but, and this is a completely diff. subject - Archiving. At the bottom of my classic blog page, there is no "older or newer" link choice which I would love to have. At the side bar, my archives is monthly from the very beginning. Can you help me change these?
Hi,Thanks for the tips.Really helped me to solve the problem.

ReplyDeleteIn the past I have been able to create a post in Word and cut and paste it into my post on blogger and keep the font chosen. Since I have switch to the new editor it won't allow the font to stay. Is there a way to keep the font?

ReplyDeleteI don't use the new post editor after trying it for a while. I have switched back to the old post editor and see no reason to change.
ReplyDeletePeter-
ReplyDeleteI have switched back to the old editor but now when I highlight the text and right click it come up with a large menu and paste and cut is not an option. Any suggestions?!
I have always done whatever I want within the post editor using the Edit HTML mode. You seem to want the convenience of copy-paste from WORD. I have heard good words about publishing from Windows Live Writer. Perhaps you may want to test that. If you do, will appreciate some feedback.
ReplyDeleteJust got to say
ReplyDeleteI LOVE WINDOWS LIVE WRITER!
Thanks for recommending it!
