Blog Types: medical - cancer

Every now and then, we get bloggers asking what is a blog and what kind of blogs can we create. Well, the answer to the first is very straight forward. Blog is an amalgamation of 2 words Web Log and the B came from the last alphabet of b and log of course came from log which can be another word for a journal or diary. That was how blog and blogging. It is an online diary or journal where you detail the daily happenings of your life, your opinions, etc. These are what they call personal blogs.

But now bloggers uses all blogs for all sorts of purposes. This blog was started exclusive to provide information, and easy to read instructions for blogging and Blogger. I have other blogs including one on How to survive cancer tips. Why did I create a blog dedicated to cancer. Well, I lost my wife to breast cancer and we were ill prepared to deal with this serious situation. I did not handle the situation well and my family suffered for an extended period. I hope no one will ever have to go through the ordeal my late wife, I and my family went through, and as I come across tips or useful information, I hope to add it in that blog. This is one uses of blogs - help disseminate hopefully helpful

Often, people view the diagnosis of cancer as death sentence. But there is hope, especially if discovered early. One can go for conventional medical treatments which often rely on radiotherapy, surgery and chemotherapy. These are very drastic treatments. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy uses deadly radiation and chemicals to try to kill cancerous cells, but in the process, kills normal cells as well. Then there are the dreaded side effects - nausea, loss of hair, loss of appetite, etc. Surgery means you loss part of your body and result in disfigurement. But sometimes there is no choice.

Now some cancer patients go for Alternative Cancer Treatment, especially if conventional doctors tell them they have terminal cancer and there is no more hope and nothing else can be done for them. There are also some who combine the two. However, if you are undergoing both conventional as well as alternative medical treatments, it will be good to keep your doctors informed.

What alternative medical treatments for cancer are available? This guy, Steven Chang, came to my notice. From his name, he is Chinese, just like me. Plus his surname is Chang while mine is Chen. Often, one can share the same surname when written with Chinese character while differently spelled in English, and there is every possibility that Chang and Chen is the same Chinese character of two "rabbit ears" above a pair of "eyes" which is again above a "mouth" like this: Chinese surname character chen, chang, chan, zheng

Not only that, the URL of his website ends with nl which I believe means is a domain registered in Netherlands where the locals speak the Dutch. I can read some Dutch, write and converse with broken Dutch. Looks like we have something in common and I will try to see if we can establish some kind of communications.

I will have to look more closely at Steven Chang's website: Flavonoid cancer treatment protocol and hopefully get some ideas for my How to survive cancer tips blog.

What are flavonoids

Steven Chang mentioned flavonoids. Let us see what Wikipedia has to say about flavonoids. According to Wikipedia, flavonoid is a class of plant secondary metabolite very well known for their antioxidant activity. Flavonoids are chemical compounds present in plants (fruits and vegetables), and that is why you find health activist encouraging people to eat more fruits and vegetables, especially the colorful ones. Of all the flavonoids, Quercetin is the most active as shown by studies and for those chemistry minded, here is the chemical structure of Quercetin:

Economical treatment for cancer

Now according to Steven Chang, you can have a Flavonoid cancer treatment protocol for cancer which cost only approximately $20 which when broken down to daily cost, is only $0.50 to $1.00. That is way, way cheaper than conventional medical treatment and is great news for cancer patients if the treatment works. Steven Chang's website gives a simple 3 steps treatment protocol which can be repeated as many times as you want.

Now please note I am only a retired scientist, a retired Associate Professor, and no medical doctor. I am not in a position to say much about Steven Chang's Flavonoid cancer treatment protocol and you would have to do your own research and also consult your doctor or doctors. But if you find that it works for you or your loved ones, please let me know about it by leaving a comment and perhaps you might also consider supporting Steven Chang's website
