Convert your blogs into eBooks and sell them via PayLoadz

Ever thought of earning money from your blog by participating in e-Commerce selling digital products? The product may be an e-Book (a PDF version of your blog for example) or digital versions of your songs or music, a movie (video), digital art, software, manuals or anything that you can download. If you have any intention of doing this, PayLoadz can help you. Signing up for an account to sell your digital products with PayLoadz is free and easy and I have signed up for a free account. I will only need to upgrade to a paid account if my sales exceed $100 a month which I think is reasonable.

With PayLoadz, not only can you sell a PDF book of your blog or other digital products, you can also earn affiliate fees by placing affiliate links that will enable your visitors to download digital products of other members of PayLoadz, just as you see in the sidebar and the footer of this site Peter's Home Business.

I have tested out PayLoadz and I shall describe what I have done. I used BlogCollector to backup my blog Dummies Guide to Blogger which still uses the old classic Blogger template. I think BlogCollector do not support the New Blogger templates yet. I have emailed them and will update this post with their response. However, even if BlogCollector really do not support the New Blogger template, and your blog uses the New Blogger template, you can still do it this way. First, backup your current template and save it somewhere secure. Backup more than once if you want to be doubly sure and save it it different location. Then change the template to an old classic template. This post will tell you how: Reverting from New Blogger template to the old classic template. Use BlogCollector to backup the blog. Then BlogCollector can convert it into a PDF file.

I sign into PayLoadz, uploaded my newly created PDF file there and generated the HTML script for a "Buy now" button (you can also select HTML for a text link if that is what you want).

I have a Paypal normal account which I have to upgrade to a Premier account. Upgrading to a Premier Paypal account. I connected my Paypal account to my Paypal account by entering the PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPN) Profile setting pointed to our IPN script at http://payloadz.com/pay/index.asp.

I then created my e-Commerce store selling my digital PDF book. You can have a look at the store I created. It is at Dummies Guide to Blogger eBook. Try clicking on the buttons and see what happens.

I have also generated affiliate scipts to put in the HTML/Javascript of Add a Page Element to display links for visitors to download other digital products being sold through PayLoadz which you can see in the right sidebar and the footer of this site Peter's Home Business.

I have also converted my main blog Blogger Tips and Tricks into a PDF book using BlogCollector. Blogger Tips and Tricks is using the New Blogger template, so what I have done is first backup the template as described in this post Backing up and changing templates, revert to the old classic template as described in this post Reverting from New Blogger template to the old classic Blogger template. I then used BlogCollector to backup the blog, converted it to a PDF book, upload it into PayLoadz, generated the HTMLs for the BUY NOW, ADD TO CART and VIEW CART buttons, and made a new store selling my PDF book for Blogger Tips and Tricks. You can view the store here: Blogger Tips and Tricks PDF book for sale online.

Thinking back, I should have combined the 2 into a single post (store). However, the stores were made more for demonstration than to make money, so I think I will leave things as it is, or perhaps even create a new post (store) containing all the PDF books of my blogs if I feel so inclined.

I have since converted Blogger Tips and Tricks back into the New Blogger template using using the method described in this post Migrating the old classic template to the New Blogger template to an arbitrary New Blogger template, then uploading the backup template I have made earlier.

Unfortunately, links are not made active and pictures are not included in the PDF books generated by BlogCollector which makes the book much less useful. That is why I am selling the PDF books at such low prices. This would be more suitable for blogs containing literature articles which do not have much links and pictures.

  1. Hi Peter, I've been using your blog for some time now as an incredibly valuable technical resource -- thank you so much.

I'm hoping you can help me with a problem. All my posts in all my blogs have double line space between paragraphs. Everything displays correctly in Firefox, but in Explorer 7 only a single line space displays between paragraphs. I've tried everything including manually inserting "break break"
but it doesn't solve the problem.

The funny thing is when I manually insert three breaks between paragraphs then in Explorer it displays as a double line space between paragraphs, which is what I want. But in Firefox three breaks displays as a triple line space, which is what I don't want.

I have checked the blogger settings for "convert double hard return" and they are set correctly.

Also strange is that in Explorer, in the edit and preview windows, the text shows correctly, ie with two line spaces between paragraphs. Any ideas? I really want to avoid having to backtrack through all my posts on all my blogs and manually fix the spacing for Explorer, especially if that just mean it will display incorrectly in Firefox. Here is a link to one of my blogs:

  2. Hi magic,

I viewed both your sites in both IE7 and FireFox 2, after clicking Read More. In both I see only single line spacing?

  4. After reading all the info here, I got to know what you are saying but if I will convert all my blogs which have adsense displayed into ebooks, will it lead to a ban from adsense as I will be sharing my blog content with other users to whom I will sell my ebook as suggested by you via payloadz. Please let me know??

  5. I believe there are other ways to convert your blog other than just BlogCollector. I have only tried the free Blog Collector a long time ago so I am not an expert but I think it will not backup Javascript and AdSense is using Javascript. I am not 100% sure, if you are serious, contact the creator of Blog Collector.

  13. is a big, fat, outrageous scam. A few months ago I happened to place an order for a 20 page paper through their website. With “transparent” writer reviews and “affordable” prices, I thought I was making the best choice available. I was wrong. (A bit of background information: I am a senior in college who wanted a sample paper to help me complete my comps). When I first saw website, it didn’t seem horrible. They promised low prices and their writers seemed American or at least fluent in the English language (stupid me thinking that their writers’ names were real). But what was advertised as $7.50 per page quickly spiraled into $25 and $30 per page. On top of that, I realized that if you didn’t buy from a pricey writer, your paper was going to be complete shit. Like illegible. Like an F. So after I placed my order with a writer named God-knows-what in real life, I sat and waited for my paper. I had written a draft of my paper already and was going to use this to ease the process. What I got was COMPLETE GARBAGE. The paper was formatted incorrectly, it didn’t reach the page limit I PAID FOR, and didn’t even address the topics I requested. I think assumes that students who use their service are complete idiots. Some may be. But I am not. I ordered a paper with them because I care about my grades (who doesn’t when paying 50K a year for school) and wanted to IMPROVE my dissertation. So, what did they do when I called to ask for a partial refund? They told ME that nothing could be done. That the terms and conditions I agreed too were set in stone and that it was my fault for having selected the writer that I did.

Essentially they told me that they can take my money but not offer a shred of accountability when one of their employees fucks up. WOW. And then here’s the best part: when I called to speak with someone about giving a negative review of their service, they told me they would find out where I go to school and make sure I would always regret speaking poorly about them. Real professional. So, as an aspiring computer programmer, A REALLY PISSED OFF CUSTOMER, and someone who doesn’t give a flying fuck that these scam artists have my contact information, I created this website to inform students around the world that is a scam. I encourage fellow students who have been scammed by this company to give their reviews on as well. The more reviews the merrier.

As I dug a deeper review of past, I found some pretty scary things. Like for instance that their writers are almost all Pakistani (over 30% of their daily web traffic comes from the country) and use FAKE AMERICAN NAMES to pretend they are native English speakers. Isn’t it time this bullshit be investigated? I don’t care what you think about paper writing services (whether you believe they are ethical or not) but at least take down the companies that are pure scams like
Click on this link and wow yourself:

That’s right, this website is one of the top 12,000 most viewed in FUCKING PAKISTAN.
Why? Because they are the “English speaking writers” this fucked up company hires. I have also found evidence that suggests they have other writers in India and the Philippines. I know of a couple of companies that offer real English writers and I thought was one of them. Turns out they’re just a bunch of liars.

The scam is real. They are thieves who could care less about you. Maybe you’ve had a couple decent papers from them. But sleep well knowing that they will take any measure to screw you over.

That’s enough. Rant’s over. Fuck you,

    Sincerely,
A VERY PISSED OFF FORMER CUSTOMER
